Description
The HICO Stainless Steel Ball Valve is designed for simple and reliable isolation of fluid or gas flow within a piping system.
The valve features a stainless steel body, a quarter-turn lever handle and threaded inlet and outlet connections. The lever-operated design allows the valve to be quickly opened or closed when isolation of a pipeline section is required.
For LPG and gas applications, the valve should be selected based on the actual gas type, operating pressure, temperature, connection size and applicable installation requirements.

Applications
LPG Piping Systems
The valve can be considered for LPG piping isolation where the valve’s technical specifications are suitable for the system.
Gas Pipeline
Suitable for appropriate gas pipeline isolation and flow shut-off applications.
LPG Reticulation
The ball valve can be used at suitable isolation points within an LPG reticulation system, subject to engineering design and applicable standards.
Industrial Piping
Suitable for on/off isolation in compatible industrial piping applications.
Commercial Gas Systems
Can be used for gas-line isolation in commercial installations where the pressure, temperature and connection specifications match the system requirements.
Why Choose HICO Stainless Steel Ball Valve?
Stainless Steel Construction
The stainless steel body provides a robust construction for engineering and piping applications.
Quick Quarter-Turn Operation
The lever handle allows quick manual opening and closing of the valve.
Compact Design
Its compact construction makes it practical for installation in relatively limited spaces.
Threaded Connections
Female threaded connections allow the valve to be integrated into compatible threaded piping systems.
Easy Isolation
The valve is suitable for isolating a section of a piping system during operation, maintenance or servicing.
How Does a Ball Valve Work?
A ball valve controls flow using a spherical ball with a passage through its centre.
Handle Open
→ Ball passage aligns with the pipeline
→ Gas/fluid can flow
Handle Closed
→ Ball rotates approximately 90°
→ Passage becomes perpendicular to the pipeline
→ Flow is shut off
This simple quarter-turn mechanism makes ball valves widely useful for pipeline isolation.
HICO Ball Valve for LPG Reticulation
In an LPG reticulation system, isolation valves may be required at suitable locations to allow individual sections of the system to be isolated for maintenance and servicing.
The HICO stainless steel ball valve can be considered for such applications only when its pressure rating, gas compatibility, connection standard and certification meet the project requirements.
For a complete LPG reticulation project, valve selection should be coordinated with:
- LPG operating pressure
- Pipe size
- Gas flow requirement
- Valve pressure rating
- Connection standard
- Installation location
- Applicable LPG safety standards
